Indian Air Force successfully tests first Glide Bomb

The Indian Air Force, along with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully tested an indigenously developed lightweight ‘Glide’ bomb in Chandipur in Odisha. With this DRDO announced that this bomb will soon be inducted into the armed forces. Named SAAW (Smart Anti Airfield Weapon), it was dropped from an IAF aircraft at the Integrated Test Range (ITR). S Christopher is the present Chairman of DRDO. General Bipin Rawat is the present and 27th Chief of Army Staff.
New Guinness Record created at World Food India 2017 festival

India created a Guinness world record today by cooking 918 kilograms of khichdi, a traditional multi-grain dish, at the ongoing World Food India event in New Delhi. It was prepared by a team of 50 people led by Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, the brand ambassador of The Great India Food Street. The minimum requirement to create a world-record was 500 kilogram. Khichdi was distributed among ambassadors and other dignitaries who were present at the world-record moment.
AU Small Bank gets Scheduled Commercial Bank status

AU Small Finance Bank has received Reserved Bank of India (RBI) approval to operate as Scheduled Commercial Bank. This bank’s name has now been included in the Second Schedule of Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. Now AU Small Finance Bank will be able to do borrowing and lending with RBI under Liquidity Adjustment Facility (LAF) and Marginal Standing Facility (MSF). It will also enable AU Small Finance Bank to issue Certificate of Deposits (CDs) on competitive interest rates in the market to get liquidity. Sanjay Agarwal, MD & CEO, AU Small Finance Bank. Yes Bank signs agreement with Government for Rs 1000 Cr financing

Private sector lender Yes Bank signed an agreement with the government to provide Rs. 1,000 cr financing for food processing projects. The funding will be provided to around 100 food processing projects with an average ticket size of Rs 10 cr each. The Focus will be on projects across backend infrastructure, cold chain creation of new processing units, expansion of existing units, forward linkages and food processing clusters in various locations in India, amongst others. Yes Bank Headquarters in Mumbai. CEO of Yes Bank is Rana Kapoor.
“Eyewatch Railways” launched by Western Railway in Mumbai

The Western Railway has launched an application called “Eyewatch Railways” for the safety of the woman commuters traveling in the suburban train between Churchgate and Virar.  The app will enable women commuters to send out their location, video, and audio. The free app, available on Google Play Store and App store was developed by the Railway Police Force in association with Eye watch technologies.
New US Ambassador to India announced     

It has been announced by the US Govt that Kenneth Juster will be the new US Ambassador to India. He will replace Richard Verma.

New Governor of US Central Bank announced    
The Trump Administration has named current Federal Reserve Governor Jerome Powell as the new Chairman of the US Central Bank. He will succeed Janet Yellen.

Nasir Kamal appointed Additional Director General of BSF

On 2nd Nov 2017, it was announced that Nasir Kamal has been appointed as the Additional Director General of the Border Security Force. His appointment is for a period of four years.

World’s longest living dolphin dies in Japan

Nana, a female bottlenose dolphin died in the Shizuoka Prefecture Aquarium in Japan on 31st October 2017. Dolphin Nana stayed captive at the Aquarium for 15666 days or 42 years and 11 months. and was captured off the coast of Ita in 1974 and had lived in the Aquarium ever since.
