World’s first 3 D film in Sanskrit screened at
IFFI, Goa     

world’s first 3D film in Sanskrit “Anurakti”
was screened at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) Goa. A team of Ten
Sanskrit scholars worked with the film makers to make the film and get the
dialogues etc right. The artistes were also trained in Sanskrit language. The
movie is about Koodiyattam, the
traditional art form of Kerala. It
was directed by film maker P.K. Ashokan.
The main challenge was to make the film contemporary and enable viewers to
understand the same.
Trump Towers launched in Kolkata

residential apartments has been launched in Kolkata. The promoters aim to reach a sales figure of Rs 700 cr
from this project. The starting price is Rs 3.75 cr for 2500 square feet flat.
This is the third Trump Towers project in India, after the Pune project
partnering Panchsheel Reality and the Mumbai project in partnership with the
Lodha Group. The President of United States, Donald Trump is the founder of the
Trump Organisation, which has business interests all over the world.
IKEA opens its first Hej Home in India in

On 26th
November 2017, the well known Swedish
furniture maker IKEA
(Ingvar Kamprad Elmtaryd Agunnaryd) opened its first Hej Home in India in Hyderabad.
This will be followed by stores in Mumbai in 2019 and Bengaluru, Delhi NCR
later on. In India, IKEA has currently 50 suppliers with 45000 direct
employees. The Hej Home is developed over a six month duration and emphasizes
what IKEA stands for and what the customers expect from their stores. Each IKEA
store in India will be designed with the Indian consumer in mind. Each store
will come with a 1000 seat restaurant, where visitors can enjoy Swedish
Lucknow to get its first woman Mayor in 100

On 26th
November 2017, elections were held for the selection of the Mayor of Lucknow city. For the first
time in 100 years, the city will get a woman
, as the seat is reserved entirely for women. There were 19 women
contenders for the post. The state of Uttar Pradesh, of which Lucknow is the
Capital has the distinction of giving India’s first woman Governor in Sarojini Naidu and the first woman
Chief Minister in Sucheta Kriplani.
New Zealand develops world’s first AI
world’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) politician
has been developed in New Zealand. It is named SAM. It was developed by Nick Gerristen, an entrepreneur in New
Zealand. The politician is trained to answer people’s queries on local issues
like housing, education and infrastructure. It interacts with people through
Facebook and on its home page. Although the developer believes that by the next
time when the elections are due in the country SAM will be developed enough to
contest as a candidate, it may not be possible, as an AI person is not legally
eligible to contest elections.
Virat Kohli creates new world record in cricket    
Indian Cricket team captain Virat Kohli
, who is considered a run machine, created a new
world record on  26th November 2017. He became the first captain in the long
history of Test Cricket to score 10
. In the process, he beat the record of Australia’s Ricky Ponting (twice – in 2005 and 2006) and South Africa’s Greame Smith (2005) who
both scored 9 centuries in Test Cricket as the captain of their respective
countries. Virat Kohli has now scored four
double centuries
in four successive Test series. He has now scored 51 centuries
in International Cricket (19 in Tests
and 32 in ODIs
Ravichandran Ashwin becomes fastest in the
world to take 300 Test wickets           

On 27th
November 2017, India off-spinner
Ravichandran Ashwin
became the fastest
bowler to reach the milestone of 300 Test wickets
in his 54th match,
breaking Dennis Lillee’s record
during India’s win over Sri Lanka in the second Test. Australian fast bowling legend Lillee had reached the milestone in 56 Test matches way back in 1981 and it
took 36 years for another bowler to eclipse the record. Ashwin is only the fifth Indian bowler to complete a
career 300 wickets in Test cricket behind Anil Kumble (619), Kapil Dev (434),
Harbhajan Singh (417) and Zaheer Khan (311).
