The notification for the IBPS SO 2017 has been released by the Institute of the Banking Personnel (IBPS) recently. There are 315 vacancies open for the candidates to apply for the various posts as specialist officers (SO) in the participatory banks. The IBPS SO 2017 Prelims will be conducted on the 30th and 31st of December.
The registration for the IBPS SO 2017-18 will start from 7th November and will remain open till 27th November. A candidate who is willing to apply for the IBPS SO 2017 exam should fulfill the basic eligibility criteria as on 1st November 2017.
Following is the IBPS SO 2017 Eligibility Criteria:
IBPS SO 2017 Eligibility Criteria: Nationality/ Citizenship
A candidate must be either –
(i) a Citizen of India or
(ii) a subject of Nepal or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan or
(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
IBPS SO 2017 Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit – (As on 01.11.2017)
A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.11.1987 and not later than 01.11.1997 (both dates inclusive).
IBPS SO 2017 Eligibility Criteria: Age relaxation
(i) The maximum age limit specified in (II) above is applicable to General Category candidates.
(ii) The relaxation in upper age limit to SC/ST/OBC candidates is allowed on cumulative basis with only one of the remaining categories for which age relaxation is permitted as mentioned above in Point No. IV (3) to IV (6).
(iii) Candidates seeking age relaxation will be required to submit the necessary certificate(s) in original/ copies at the time of Interview and at any subsequent stage of the recruitment process as required by IBPS/ Participating Organisation(s).
(iv) An Ex-Servicemen who has once joined a Government job on civil side after availing of the benefits given to him/her as an Ex-Servicemen for his/her re-employment, his/her Ex-Servicemen status for the purpose of the re-employment in Government jobs ceases.
There is no reservation for Ex-servicemen in Officers’ Cadre.
IBPS SO 2017 Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification
•’*’ In case of dual specializations, one of the fields of specialization should be in the field prescribed. In case of major/ minor specializations, major specialization should be in the stream prescribed. Candidates having PG Degree (MMS or MBA)/PG Diploma with more than two specializations are not eligible to apply.
•’**’ Candidates should ensure that the educational qualification possessed by them shall be as per the prescribed educational qualifications mentioned in the advertisement and they fulfill the above eligibility criteria. No equivalent educational qualification shall be considered as eligible by IBPS or Participating Organisations.
For posts other than IT Officer Scale I: Candidates should have
— Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/ Language
— Should have studied Computer/ Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School/ College/ Institute
— All the educational qualifications mentioned should be from a University/ Institution/ Board recognized by the Govt. Of India/ approved by Govt. Regulatory Bodies
— The final result should have been declared on or before 27.11.2017
IBPS SO 2017 Calculation of Percentage:
The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks (in all the subjects irrespective of honours / optional/additional optional subject, if any) multiplied by 100. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class / Grade is decided on basis of Honours marks only.
The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60% and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%.
Candidates can apply for only one post. Multiple applications will be summarily rejected.
