Telangana registers highest growth rate in tax revenues

According to CAG, from June 2014 to May 2018, Telangana has registered the highest growth rate of 17.6 percent followed by Haryana with 14.2 percent, Maharashtra with 13.9 percent, Odisha with 12.4 percent and West Bengal with 10.3 percent.


India’s first robotic telescope opens its eyes to the universe

India’s newest telescope has started observing the skies. The telescope located at the Indian Astronomical Observatory (IAO) at Hanle in Ladakh is the country’s first robotic telescope and the first one designed to observe dynamic or transient events in the universe. Universities and research institutes from the US, the UK, Japan, India, Germany, Taiwan, and Israel are part of the initiative.


Vice President released the book ‘Emergency: Indian Democracy’s Darkest Hour’

Vice-president M Venkaiah Naidu on Monday said that the “darkest hour of democracy, that was the Emergency imposed 43 years ago on June 25, 1975, should be included in school curriculum so that youngsters learn to value the democratic freedoms they enjoy. He was speaking at the release of the Hindi, Kannada, Telugu and Gujarati versions of the Book ‘Emergency: Indian Democracy’s Darkest Hour’, written by Prasar Bharati chairperson A Surya Prakash.


NIIF To Launch $2-Billion Fund To Finance Projects: CEO

The National Infrastructure and Investment Fund (NIIF) is looking to launch a $2-billion long-term fund to finance various mega projects. The new fund has already been registered. The NIIF already has two operational funds — the NIIF master fund that invests directly into companies and a fund of funds that invests in funds that are managed by third parties, NIIF managing director and chief executive Sujoy Bose said.


Pallavi Darua crowned as India’s first ‘Tribal Queen’

India, Seychelles sign MoU on education, technology
