Dalai Lama, Arvind Kejriwal launch Happiness Program for Delhi Govt. Schools

The Delhi government on 3 June launched ‘Happiness Curriculum‘ for school students, with the Dalai Lama gracing the occasion and saying that India can help the world overcome “negative emotions” of the mankind. The curriculum is for students up to class 8.

 

Election Commission of India launches Mobile App “cVIGIL” to enable citizens to report on the violation of election code of conduct

The Chief Election Commissioner Shri. O.P. Rawat, along with the Election Commissioners Shri Sunil Arora and Shri Ashok Lavasa launched a mobile app, called ‘cVIGIL,’ on July 3, 2018, for citizens to report any violation of the model code of conduct during elections. “cVIGIL” will allow anyone in the election-bound state to report violations of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) that comes into effect from the date of announcement of elections and goes on till a day after the polls.

 

KVIC launches e-marketing system KIMIS

The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) 3 June launched its, in-house developed, single-umbrella e-marketing system named Khadi Institution Management and Information System (KIMIS) in New Delhi. The system can be accessed from anywhere in the country for the sale and purchase of Khadi and Village Industries products.

India to host IUFoST 2018, 19th World Congress of Food Science and Technology

SEBI raises overseas investment limit of AIFs, VCFs to $750 million

Markets regulator SEBI on 3 June enhanced the overseas investment limit of alternative investment funds and venture capital funds to $750 million from the current $500 million. AIFs are funds established or incorporated in India for the purpose of pooling in capital from Indian and foreign investors for investing as per a pre-decided policy, while VCFs are investment funds that manage the money of investors who seek private equity stakes in startups.

Aaron Finch: Australia captain hits 172 off 76 against Zimbabwe for new record T20 international score

Australia captain Aaron Finch broke his own record for the highest Twenty20 international score by hitting 172 from 76 balls against Zimbabwe in Harare. Finch beat the previous highest, which was his 156 against England in 2013. He just failed to beat Chris Gayle’s record score of 175 for all T20 cricket when he was out hit the wicket with two balls of Australia’s innings left.
