PM Modi announces Rs 1 crore loan in 59 minutes for MSMEs

PM Narendra Modi has announced major steps including 59-minute loan portal for sanction of up to one crore rupees for small and medium enterprises (MSME). The Prime Minister said, mandatory procurement of 20% from MSMEs by Public Sector Undertakings has now been increased to 25%. Mr. Modi said, it has also been decided that 3% of the total purchases from it will be reserved for women entrepreneurs.

 

Indian Railways eliminates Unmanned Level Crossings (UMLCs) on Broad Gauge route

12 Zonal Railways on Broad Gauge route has now become free from Unmanned Level Crossings. The Zones include Central Railway, Eastern Railway, North Eastern Railway, Southern Railway, and West Central Railway. The Railway Ministry, in a release, said, it has decided to eliminate all Unmanned Level Crossings, UMLC on Broad Gauge.

 

SMiLE virtual tour guide to give the fillip to Malabar tourism: Kerala

SMiLE is the acronym for: ‘Small and Medium Industries Leveraging Experiential’ Tourism. On October 31, 2018, to give the boost to Malabar tourism, the Kerala Tourism Department launched a ‘SMiLE Virtual Tour Guide’ site for the region in north Kerala.

 

Signature Bridge set to be inaugurated along the Yamuna Expressway on Nov 4

Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia recently invited the general public to witness a “civil engineering spectacle” as the much-awaited Signature Bridge over the Yamuna in northwest Delhi will be inaugurated on 4th November. The bridge will be thrown open for the public on 5th November.

Kirloskar group gets RBI nod for NBFC biz; to invest Rs.1,000 cr

The Kirloskar group recently said that it has received the license from the Reserve Bank to launch a non-banking finance company (NBFC), Kirloskar Capital, which will be headed by industry veteran Vimal Bhandari. The group company said it will invest Rs 1,000 crore in the proposed NBFC, which will be a fully-owned subsidiary of Kirloskar Oil Engines, and will focus on providing growth capital to the industry with an initial focus on small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Indonesia’s Medan city inaugurates ‘Little India Gate’

Nearly 7,000 people gathered in northern Indonesia to witness the inauguration of ‘Little India Gate’, the first-of-its-kind structure in the country which recognizes the contribution of the Indian community in the development of Medan city. The new structure was inaugurated jointly by India’s ambassador to Indonesia and Timor Leste Pradeep Kumar Rawat and Mayor of Medan H T Dzulmi Eldin S on October 27 at Kampung Madras or Madras Village area in Medan city, the fourth largest city in the country.
