Vice President lays Foundation Stone for Kartarpur Corridor
Marking a new beginning in India-Pakistan relations and heralding the possibility of reducing the tensions between the two countries, the Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has laid the foundation stone for construction of Dera Baba Nanak – Kartarpur Sahib corridor on the Indian side that will provide a passage to Sikh pilgrims to visit the holy site of Gurudwara Darbar Sahib at Kartarpur in Pakistan. The event also marked the commemoration of 550th birth anniversary year of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Gujarat topped in implementing Ayushman Bharat after 2 months of launch: NHA
On November 25, 2018, according to the National Health Agency, after 2 months of the launch of Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Gujarat has emerged as the top performer among the states under the scheme. As of November 23, Gujarat accounts for 26% of the total number of sanctioned hospital admissions under the scheme. Around 76,000 hospital admissions have been cleared in Gujarat since September 23, Tamil Nadu ranked second at 54,273 and Chhattisgarh third at 53,180 sanctioned hospitals.
National Festival for Children of Child Care Institutions (CCIs)- “Hausla 2018” begins in Delhi
The National Festival for Children of Child Care Institutions (CCIs)- “Hausla 2018” of the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) was inaugurated by the Secretary, Rakesh Srivastava in New Delhi. The inter-Child Care Institution festival is witnessing participation of more than 600 Children drawn from CCIs from 18 states in the various events like painting competition, athletics meet, football, chess competition and speech writing as part of the Festival.
70-feet tall second highest statue of Lord Buddha unveiled at Rajgir in Nalanda district in Bihar by CM of Bihar
On November 25, 2018, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar unveiled a 70-feet tall statue of Lord Buddha at Rajgir in Nalanda district, Bihar. He also inaugurated a three-day Rajgir Mahotsava.
National milk day – 26 November
National Milk Day is celebrated in the memory of Dr. Verghese Kurien who was the architect of the “Operation Flood”, which was launched by National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) in the year 1970.
“PAiSA – Portal for Affordable Credit and Interest Subvention Access” launched
A centralized electronic platform for processing interest subvention on bank loans to beneficiaries under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) named “PAiSA – Portal for Affordable Credit and Interest Subvention Access”, was launched in New Delhi. The web platform has been designed and developed by Allahabad Bank which is the Nodal bank. Launching the portal, Sh Durga Shankar Mishra, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs said, “PAiSA is yet another effort by the government to connect directly with the beneficiaries, ensuring that there are greater transparency and efficiency in the delivery of services. DBT of subvention on monthly basis under DAY-NULM will give the necessary financial support to small entrepreneurs in a timely manner”.
RBI eases hedging norms for ECBs to 70% from current 100%
The Reserve Bank on 26th November relaxed norms for external commercial borrowings (ECBs) by reducing the mandatory hedging provision to 70% from the current 100%. The relaxed norms will apply to the ECBs with a maturity period between 3 and 5 years, the central bank said in a notification.
Centre, ADB sign 200 million dollar loan pact to upgrade state highways in Bihar
The Centre and Asian Development Bank (ADB) on 26th November signed a 200 million dollar loan agreement to finance widening and upgrading of about 230 Kilometers State Highways in Bihar to all-weather standards with road safety features.
Sunil Arora to be next Chief Election Commissioner
Election Commissioner Sunil Arora has been appointed as the next Chief Election Commissioner. He will take charge as the next CEC on December 2. A former bureaucrat, Sunil Arora was appointed as Election Commissioner in September last year. 62-year-old Sunil Arora had been the Union Information and Broadcasting Secretary and Secretary in the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
CBDT member Akhilesh Ranjan appointed as head of new direct tax code panel
Putting an end to speculation on the fate of a new direct tax law, Akhilesh Ranjan, recently inducted member in the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), was appointed as the new convener of the Task Force on re-writing the legislation on 26th November. The panel is supposed to submit the report by February 28, 2019, the CBDT said in a release.
Wipro chief Azim Premji to be conferred highest French civilian award
IT czar and philanthropist Azim Premji will be conferred Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur (Knight of the Legion of Honour) — the highest French civilian distinction — later this month. “The award comes in recognition of his outstanding contribution to developing the information technology industry in India, his economic outreach in France, and his laudable contribution to society as a philanthropist through the Azim Premji Foundation and University,” it added. Some of the past Indian recipients of the prestigious award include Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee and superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
Odisha gears up to host Men’s Hockey World Cup
The stage is all set in Odisha’s capital city Bhubaneswar for the 14th edition of Men’s Hockey World Cup to be played from 28th November to 16th December at Kalinga Stadium. Total 16 Countries are participating in this tournament. The participants are India, Belgium, Argentina, New Zealand, Australia, England, Netherlands, Germany, Canada, Ireland, China, Pakistan, Malaysia, South Africa, and Spain. On 28th in the first match, India will meet South Africa and Belgium will meet Canada at Kalinga Stadium.
Saina Nehwal upset by world No 27 Han Yue in final of Syed Modi Championships
A 19-year-old Chinese by the name of Han Yue managed to silence the home crowd in Lucknow as she effected a major upset in the final of the Syed Modi Open on 25th November, beating world No 9 Saina Nehwal in straight games. Han, ranked 27th in the world, had lost in the finals of the Macau Open and Vietnam Open earlier this year, but got third-time lucky and ensured her season will end on a high, with a gold medal after beating an Olympic medallist.
Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton wins Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
On November 25th, 2018, five-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton signed off the season in style and kept the Mercedes dominance by winning at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix — the 21st and final race of the 2018 F1 calendar at the Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi.

eNovus Enterprises has launched the Easyfone Star smartphone, which has been specially designed for children’s safety and connectivity. NASA’s InSight successfully lands on Mars

Maiden Indo-Russian Strategic Economic Dialogue will be held in St Petersburg on November 25-26
The first-ever India Russia Strategic Economic Dialogue was held at St. Petersburg in Russia. The Indian side was led by NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar and Russian delegation headed by Economic Development Minister Maxim Oreshkin.
